As a multi-certified behavior specialist, Katelyn’s approach is grounded in behavioral science, compassion, and a deep respect for the emotional lives of dogs, ensuring each dog is understood as an individual and is not labeled, rushed, or forced.

Katelyn believes Salem deserves more progressive, humane spaces where families can seek help without fear, judgment, or outdated dominance-based ideology. Her intention is to foster a community where education is accessible, emotional safety is prioritized, and both dogs and their guardians feel supported as they navigate their journey together.

Animals have always been a part of my life, and I’m grateful to spend my days surrounded by both big and small dogs. At home, my tuxedo cat, Itto, ensures there’s never a dull moment. When I’m not working with dogs, I enjoy sketching and unwinding with a good show. This balance of creativity and canine companionship helps me bring my best energy to every day.

At home, her cat Pumpkin keeps things fun and full of personality. When she’s not working with dogs, Shawnee enjoys going for walks, getting lost in a good book, sitting by the water, and drawing. This mix of calm, creativity, and connection with nature helps her show up fully for every dog in her care.
